Frequently Asked Questions

We know that grilling can raise many questions – everything from choosing a grill type to maintenance and tips for perfect grilling. Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions:

The grill does not heat up.
  • Then the problem may be that you have a gas leak. Perform a gas leak test according to the manual for your grill. You can find the manual for your grill under the grill models on our website.

  • 10/11 KG gas cylinder – We recommend this size for our gas grills.

  • Gas bottles - Our experience is also that gas bottles have more limited effect in colder temperatures (especially below freezing). When we have events on cold days, we therefore always store the gas bottle at room temperature for an hour before we start grilling and when grilling that will last more than 45 minutes, we also have an extra gas bottle that we exchange along the way. Our experience is also that the gas bottle loses some effect when it reaches less than 20% left in the bottle.

  • Regulator – Regulators are sensitive to external influences. If the regulator has been hit or has fallen on the ground/banged hard into the wall of the house or similar, this can affect the gas flow it provides. In order to avoid having to buy a new regulator unnecessarily, we therefore always suggest that you ask a neighbor to test with their regulator. We experience this as the most common cause of prolonged low heat in a grill.

  • Wind will affect the grill, especially in the spring/autumn when the air is a bit colder. Try to place the grill in a sheltered position.

  • The thermometer can give a deviation of up to 30% from the temperature on the grill grate, depending on the outside temperature and wind. So if the thermometer shows 200 degrees, it will in most cases be up to 300 degrees on the grill grate.

My grill won't light.

Pilot flame

Here a spark is created and a flame shoots down along the burner which ignites the gas when you hold the switch in and turn it to the ignition point. The pilot flame goes out when you release the switch.

If the burner does not light here, check that you are getting the pilot flame, if you are not getting this, contact us.

Electronic igniter

There is a push switch on the grill's control panel, which will make a noise when the switch is pressed on all burners at the same time. Turn the switch to MAX while pressing the ignition button to light the burner.

If the burner will not ignite, try changing the battery, check the wires on the back and make sure everything is tight. The distance between the spark plug on each burner should be 4-7 mm. If the distance is too large or too small, no spark will be produced. If the burner and spark plug are covered with food residue, grease and dirt, this will reduce the spark. Clean the spark plug and you can sand it lightly with fine sandpaper to create a better surface for the spark.

Piezo teeth

Here a spark is created when you turn the switch to the ignition point and then the gas ignites and the burner lights. Press the switch in and turn slowly towards the coverage point. The gas must have some time to get from the bottle and up into the burner. If you turn too fast here, it will not ignite. If the burner will not ignite, check the distance on the spark plug that is on each burner, it should be 4-7 mm. If this is too large or too small, a spark will not be created. If the burner and igniters are covered with food residue, grease and dirt, this will reduce the spark, clean and you can sand lightly with fine sandpaper to create a better surface for the spark.

The side burner will not burn/ignite.
  • First check that there is a spark on the side burner spark plug. If you do not see a spark, check that the wire is installed correctly.

  • Occasionally you need to adjust the distance between the spark plug and the burner. It should be 4-7 mm between the spark plug and the burner. If it is too close or too far away, it will not ignite. Adjust a little at a time.

  • Press the switch slowly and turn it towards the ignition point. You will then hear the gas coming and wait about 5 seconds before turning it to the ignition point.

  • If it is windy, the side burner may be difficult to light, so place the grill in a sheltered position.

If you can't light the side burner with these tips, please contact us.

The side burner lid is damaged/rusting.

The side burner lid must always be up when lighting the side burner. If you are unlucky and light the side burner with the lid down, the side burner lid will start to rust. Contact us and we will help you get a new side burner lid.
